We’ll be conducting recording session for Fargo Star from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Forum, 101 5th St. N., Fargo. Call (701) 241-5518 when you arrive and we’ll let you in the building. And if you want to sing to a backing track, bring an iPod or MP3 device with the track and we’ll plug it into our sound system.
The song MUST NOT CONTAIN a lead vocal track. You will not be able to use the track if this is the case.

Can I accompany myself on guitar? and if so , can it be plugged in?
Standing up/sitting with an acoustic guitar would probably work best. We will only have one good condenser mic, but it can get a great recording from a voice and acoustic guitar.

Can the MP3 song have back up vocals on it or is that not allowed?
Back up vocals should be fine. Something similar to what karaoke version would have.
It just cannot have a lead vocal track of any kind.

Hello.! I am 13 years old and i have a really good talent.
I’ve been on tv singing once before. Not really tv for the whole Fargo Citizens to all know, but i was once on tv. I’ve been singing ever sence i was 2 years old and been working soo hard for my future to work out. And im thinking this is whats calling out my name.! Hopefully i can enter.! Thanks.!
