FARGO – Singers, start your voices because Fargo Star is back.
And if it seems early for The Forum’s annual singing showcase, that’s because it is.
In the past, we’ve waited until January to start this contest that recognizes the best amateur singer in the Fargo-Moorhead area. But this year, we’re moving things up to accommodate the Fargo Star finals, which will be held at The Venue at The Hub on Feb. 25.
What that means for you right now is that we’ve started accepting submission for singers.
So if you can sing, and if you think you deserve to be the next Fargo Star, we need you to send us a video clip of you singing. You can sing a cappella or with a backing track. And you can do it solo or with instrumental accompaniment. You can be any age, and you can sing any genre of music. We just won’t accept songs with offensive or lewd material.
If you need help recording a video, we’ll soon be announcing recording sessions at The Forum and at Divas and Rockstars karaoke bar.
In the meantime, pick out your song, perfect your look and start dreaming about becoming the next Fargo Star.

You can film yourself and send it in or upload it to YouTube. We will also have several filming sessions at The Forum and at Divas and Rockstars. The first session is this Thursday at 5:30 pm at The Forum in downtown Fargo. Contact fargostar@forumcomm.com for any additional info.

When does the actual voting begin and how do people vote
I was not able to make it to any of the video recording sessions and I was wondering if I could record my voice and then upload it to YouTube with a background or pictures and such instead of a video of myself singing. I don’t have a video camera that has good sound quality, but I have a quality sound recorder I can use to record my voice and then play it on YouTube.
Would this be okay? I have always wanted to audition, but I never find out about the Fargo Star audition dates until it’s too late. :/
